Two weddings & an anniversary surprise!

Rock Barn Country Club - violin solo wedding
...Newton, NC

Our first gig of the month was a solo violin wedding at Rock Barn. The shade of blue was beautiful! It was such a windy day, so we had to put weights on our stand so it wouldn't blow over!

April played classical violin solos during the 30-minute prelude and for the ceremony. It was simple, sweet, and beautiful!

The Big Chill - Anniversary Surprise
...Charlotte, NC

Bryan contacted me about playing "You and Me" (Dave Matthews) as a surprise for his wife for their third anniversary. He was even able to reserve the venue in Charlotte where they were married! I sneaked in the back door of The Big Chill while they were next door for a drink.

I set up on the stage, behind the curtain, and used my new foot pedal to turn pages. It worked great, since the sheet music for "You and Me" was about 10 pages long....

As they walked in, the curtains opened, and I started playing. She was so surprised! They enjoyed the music, just the two of them, and even danced to a few songs. I played some classical pieces, along with All of Me, What a Wonderful World, and O Solo Mio. So romantic and sweet! I'm glad I could be a part of such a special night.

The VanLandingham Estate - violin duet wedding
...Charlotte, NC

Catherine & Jordan enjoyed perfect weather for their Saturday wedding at the VanLandingham Estate in Charlotte. We arrived while the florist was putting the finishing touches on the aisle.

This was our first wedding completely using our iPad instead of sheet music. We loved it! It's so nice to not worry about the wind blowing and turning our pages at the wrong time.

We have an airturn bluetooth foot pedal too, which we can use to turn pages! Sometimes our pop songs are long, with lots of repeats, so everything went seamlessly. I wish we had invested in this technology years ago!

Our program included: What a Wonderful World - Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring - Canon in D - Crazy Love - Can You Feel the Love Tonight - Fly Me to the Moon

Jeanna from VanLandingham Estate was a great coordinator, and we loved working with all the staff there. Thank you, Catherine & Jordan, for including us as part of your wedding ceremony!
