Frequently Asked Questions

What if I want a song not in your repertoire? Will you learn it?

Definitely. We love learning new songs! We charge $30 to order sheet music. Even if sheet music does not exist, we can commission an arrangement for you.

What if I want an instrument not listed on your site?

We gladly source other instruments as needed.  By special request from clients, we have worked with clarinet, oboe, french horn, trombone, organ, mandolin, banjo, upright bass, drums, and more!

What do you wear?

Our typical attire is formal and professional all black. We can accommodate black tie requests with advance notice.

Do you require a retainer?

Yes. Retainers are approximately half of your event fee.

Who will be the point of contact after I book?

April is the point of contact for most of these conversations, but we have an entire team helping us plan logistics for your day!

Are you insured?

Yes!  We carry the standard liability policy required by most venues.

When will you arrive on-site?

Our team arrives at least one hour before music begins.

When is the balance due?

The balance is due two weeks before your event.

Do you travel?

Yes. We love traveling to events. There is no limit on distance we will travel. Last year, we performed in 10 states.

Will you accompany my singer?

Absolutely - as long as he/she is a trained musician and comfortable performing after a brief rehearsal on the day of the wedding. There is sometimes an additional fee depending on circumstances.

How do you coordinate the beginning and endings of songs?

Our processional music is carefully planned to come to a natural stopping place every 5-7 seconds so that the "end" of the song happens at the perfect moment. We take our cues from watching your bridal party and/or signals from your wedding coordinator.

Will you perform outside?

Yes. About half of our events are outdoor events. Feel free to request a copy of our weather policies.

Can you coordinate with other instruments?

Sure! Happy to chat about this.

I want you to play the piano, but my venue doesn't have one. Do you bring one with you?

We have access to a rental keyboard for a fee. If you request this, we will bring the keyboard with us and set it up. A power source is necessary for use of the keyboard.

Will you play for my cocktail hour or dinner after the ceremony is finished?

Yes - we charge an hourly fee to provide music after the ceremony. We sometimes play for just the cocktail hour, for dinner, or for the entire reception!

What if one of the musicians is sick on my wedding day?

We carefully plan back-up musicians on our roster on wedding days so that, even if someone is sick, we have other musicians ready to step in.

Do I need to choose my music before I sign the contract?

No. In fact, most clients wait until a month or two before their event to choose music.
