Kelsey Philbrick

Lead Musician, violinist

Kelsey began her violin studies at age 8 with the Suzuki Method in the Chapel Hill area. She frequently performs with symphonies across North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. She currently serves as Assistant Concertmaster with the Western Piedmont Symphony in Hickory, NC and first violinist with the Symphony of the Mountains in Kingsport, TN. Kelsey also plays as a substitute violinist with the Greensboro Symphony, Richmond Symphony, and Salisbury Symphony.

​Kelsey holds two degrees in Violin Performance: a Bachelor's degree from UNC-Greensboro (2014), where I studied with Dr. Fabian Lopez, and a Master's degree from Appalachian State University (2017), where I studied with Dr. Nancy Bargerstock. Kelsey teaches private violin lessons to college students as Adjunct Professor of Violin at Appalachian State University and to students of all ages through the ASU Community Music School. She performs as a violinist with Deans' Duets mostly in the Charlotte and Raleigh areas.
