Katie Miller

Lead Musician, Violinist

Based out of Greensboro, NC, Katie started her violin career as a young Suzuki student at 7 years old. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance.

During her time at Appalachian State University she held many coveted chairs in the Appalachian Symphony Orchestra including Concertmaster. Katie has performed for celebrity Maya Angelou and performed back-up with the Appalachian Symphony Orchestra for the band Kansas during their 2012 tour. Professional orchestras that she has performed with include Western Piedmont Symphony, Johnson City Symphony, the Vienna Light Orchestra, and Salisbury Symphony where she was a featured guest soloist and current Assistant Principal Second Violin.

Katie has received many awards for her violin performances both in and out of the music industry including the Preliminary Talent Award at Miss North Carolina in both 2013 and 2015. She is a certified Suzuki teacher and the Director of Partnerships and Outreach at The Music Academy of North Carolina in Greensboro, NC. Katie loves playing many different styles on the violin, especially pop, jazz, and classical.
