Amber Carpenter

Lead Musician, Harpist

Amber Joy Carpenter is a professional harpist and vocalist, and teaches in both disciplines. She has received national and international awards for her harp playing, most recently being awarded First Place in the Rosen-Schaffel Young Artists Concerto Competition. She has performed at Lincoln Center, and internationally in Austria, the Czech Republic, and Sydney, Australia for the 2014 World Harp Congress. She currently performs with the Charlotte Symphony Chorus and the Union Symphony Orchestra, and is also a member of the Charlotte Symphony Chamber Singers.

In a recent interview, Ms. Carpenter stated: “I find it immensely fulfilling to work together with other enthusiastic musicians to produce music that is magnified in its impact by our mutual love for our art. My ultimate goal in life is to create music and share it with others so that it will enrich people’s lives and honor the Lord in its beauty and excellence.”

Ms. Carpenter regularly performs for weddings, corporate events, church services, chamber ensemble concerts, and other special occasions while maintaining an active teaching career. She is currently on the faculty at Masters’ Musicians School of Music, has started a local harp ensemble, and also has a private music studio offering harp and voice lessons to both children and adults. Her students have been invited to perform at prestigious venues such as the White House and the Biltmore Estate. Ms. Carpenter also serves on the Board of Directors for the Charlotte Area Foundation for Music and Art, and is President of the Charlotte Chapter of the American Harp Society.
